2016 Stumpjumper Desert 100 Countdown 13 Days to Go
Less than two weeks to go until race day, and a few days less than that before I head out.  Things are starting to move along.  Today my box of part arrived, and shortly after that I received the call that my engine was ready for pick-up.  I took a long lunch and headed down to Wasco Frame Service in Tacoma to grab the now fixed LC8 engine.  The quality of work was amazing, they did not lie when they told me it would be like new again.  I should have rushed home after work and started the process of stuffing the engine back into the chassis, but I didn’t.  I put the engine next the the frame in the garage and called it a night.  Tomorrow I will start the process of reinstalling the engine.  Barring any major unforeseen problems, there is a fair chance I should have the KTM back on the road before the weekend.  I’ll keep posting updates as new parts arrive and things continue to move along.  Good luck out there, have fun, and godspeed.
